Kristen Memoli resides in Huntington, New York. She works as a clinical psychologist and is a self-taught artist. Memoli's work is often inspired by contrast and contradictions. Much of her photography explores concepts of light versus dark, life versus decay, and joy versus heartache. She prefers abstract, landscape, and urban exploration photography as well as creating multimedia pieces, which often include text. Informed by her work in the field of autism, Memoli focuses closely on language and how words impact what we think and and how we feel. Incorporating words into her art helps her convey much more depth than just images or objects alone could convey.
